Grassroots knowledge of Long Island's social issues
Family Service League assists nearly 47,000 Long Islanders each year, with a portfolio of more than 50 programs that range from preschool education for children who might not otherwise receive it, to aiding the homeless and providing advocacy for seniors. We understand the consequences of unmet social issues, and we work at alleviating their impact on a daily basis at more than a dozen facilities across Long Island.
An important element of our work is ensuring that these issues remain prominent in the eyes and hearts of both the public and our political leaders...a responsibility we share with the members of the media. We welcome inquiries about any of our programs and the effects that the underlying problems may have on the quality of life for Long Islanders.
