01.31.2017

Family Service League (FSL), a Long Island based non-profit human service organization, is pleased to announce that the Advisory Board of the Long Island Community Foundation (LICF) has authorized a grant of $20,000.  This generous funding provides support and resources to the student and families utilizing the William Floyd Family Center (WFFC) located within the William Floyd School District (WFSD).  These vital services include counseling, case management, emergency assistance, substance abuse prevention programs, ESL classes, and parent education workshops.

“Family Service League is proud to work with the Long Island Community Foundation and the William Floyd School District.  FSL’s William Floyd Family Center programs are designed to support and teach valuable skills such as coping, building relationships, and encourage healthy emotional development for both children and adults, while also helping to alleviate the challenges facing so many families living in poverty.  The emphasis on giving each child the tools to succeed coordinates with FSL’s mission to help Long Island families mobilize their strengths and improve the quality of their lives at home and in the community.”       –  Karen Boorshtein, President & CEO of Family Service League
