Program Purpose:
Project B.E.E. is a dual language educational Program for toddlers (18 - 36 months) and families from Spanish speaking households. The program supports children and families who want to learn English but would also like to preserve their home language. It prepares toddlers for enrollment in English speaking schools, and familiarizes their parents with reading and writing through the Initial Teaching Alphabet.
Program Description:
Toddlers 18 to 36 months with their parents/guardians attend educational sessions focusing on learning English while respecting their first language and culture. Toddlers learn English and are helped to maintain their Spanish by providing them with activities in both languages. Toddlers are provided with age appropriate activities that are concrete and student driven. Parents/caregivers attend English as a Second language classes, and increase their English skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
