Program Purpose:
The County Wide Counseling Program provides counseling services to
residents of Suffolk County. CWC is designed to meet mental health needs,
yet recognizes the individual social-cultural values, goals and life styles of
the person served.
Program Description:
The County Wide Counseling Program provides diagnosis and treatment for issues such as: marital conflicts, separation and divorce, family violence, child and teen adjustment problems, bereavement issues, unemployment and financial distress, parent/child relationship struggles, aging issues, personal, interpersonal and social adjustments, problems of intra-psychic origin, rape, incest and sexual abuse, substance abuse as a secondary diagnosis and syndromes associated with impairment of functioning. The goals of the program are to enable people to cope with social, psychological, and interpersonal problems which interfere with individual, family or social functioning.
Persons Served:
The County Wide Counseling Program is a community-based, non-sectarian program open to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families who reside in Suffolk County who do not have a serious and persistent type of mental illness.
Fees:
Medicare and most insurances accepted. Also, an income-based sliding
scale is utilized.
Program Hours:
Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. depending upon location.
Saturday hours are available in Bay Shore and East Yaphank.
