County Wide Counseling (CWC)

Program Purpose:
The County Wide Counseling Program (CWC) provides outpatient counseling services to residents of Suffolk County. CWC is a psychotherapeutic intervention designed to meet identified mental health needs and recognizes the individual socio-cultural values, goals, lifestyles and the complex interaction within the family.

Program Description:
The County Wide Counseling Program provides diagnosis and treatment for issues such as: marital conflicts, separation and divorce, family violence, child and teen adjustment problems, bereavement issues, unemployment and financial distress, parent/child relationship struggles, aging issues, personal, interpersonal and social adjustments, problems of intra-psychic origin, rape, incest and sexual abuse, substance abuse as a secondary diagnosis and syndromes associated with impairment of functioning. The goals of the program are to enable people to cope with social, psychological, and interpersonal problems which interfere with individual, family or social functioning.

Persons Served:
The County Wide Counseling Program is a community-based, non-sectarian program open to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who reside in Suffolk County and who do not have a serious and persistent type of mental illness.

Fees:
An income-based sliding scale is utilized for self-pay individuals.
Medicare and most insurances are accepted.

Program Hours:
Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. depending upon location.
Saturday hours are available in Bay Shore and East Yaphank.
