Program Description:
RECESS is a voluntary program which provides therapeutic recreation to children ages 7-14 with serious emotional disturbances. Using group interventions, education and skill building, the objective of this program is to help the child improve in several areas of functioning to include: age appropriate impulse control, socialization skills, motor coordination and tolerance for frustration

Program Description:
Each program site offers structured recreation for 2 ½ hours on Saturdays for up to 20 children.

Persons Served:
The program welcomes children ages 7 through 14 residing in Suffolk County who have a diagnosed serious emotional disturbance.

Fees:
The program is free for eligible participants.

The RECESS program is offered on Saturday for 2 ½ hours
