Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing

Program Purpose:
The purpose of Family Service League’s Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) is to prevent or reduce the occurrence of homelessness throughout the Townships of Brookhaven, Huntington, Smithtown, Islip and Babylon.
Program Description:
HPRP can provide assistance to families and single adults who are either homeless or at imminent risk with the following: rent and utility arrears, landlord tenant negotiation, legal services, housing relocation assistance, ongoing case management and referral to additional community based supports.
Persons Served:
HPRP can assist families and singles residing in the Townships of Islip, Babylon, Huntington, Smithtown and Brookhaven, who are either facing imminent risk of homelessness or who are currently homeless. Households must demonstrate the potential to become self sufficient after receiving temporary assistance, and must have exhausted all other funding options prior to accessing HPRP.

HPRP hours are Monday –Friday 9am -5pm
