K-KEWL : Keeping Kids Emotionally Healthy for Life
< back
Program Purpose:
With the understanding that a child’s emotional well-being is just as important as their physical health, K-KEWL provides early screening to identify areas in which a child might need assistance. In addition to the screenings, K-KEWL provides free community based workshops with the intent of reducing the stigma associated with the mental health community.
Program Description:
K-KEWL will partner with local schools, libraries, doctor’s offices and other agencies to reach out to members of the community requesting assistance. Workshops will provide parents information on raising “emotionally well” children. Screenings will be conducted with parental consent and if indicated, the family will be offered resources for follow up care.
