Dominique Walker of Southside Heart & Lung at Southside Hospital Northwell Health Joins Family Service League’s Board of Directors

Suffolk Country, New York – Family Service League, a Long Island based non-profit human service organization, is proud to announce the election of Dominique Walker to its Board of Directors.  Dominique Walker is the Manager of Program Development for Southside Heart & Lung at Southside Hospital Northwell Health and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a private practice in Bay Shore, New York.  For the past 4 years she has been with Northwell Health and now joined Southside Hospital working to develop a comfort and hospitality program with Southside Heart & Lung, ranked “America’s 50 Best for Cardiac Surgery” from Healthgrades.

Ms. Walker brings over 10 years of experience in mental health, and a passion for working with those suffering with emotional and behavioral difficulties. She has been honored by the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce and Mayor’s Office along with Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton for her community service and development of programs for Glen Cove community members. Ms. Walker is actively involved with Cedarmore Corporation – Cynthia P. Roberts Youth Empowerment Series called Girlz Talk and their women’s benefit Lifting As We Climb, an organization focused on the empowerment and education of girls and women.  She is also involved with Rotary International, mentoring and speaking with students at Bay Shore High School. She believes that collaboration is instrumental as she seamlessly blends her mental health background and her connection with Northwell to provide access to health services for the Long Island community.

Ms. Walker received both her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.  She currently resides in Babylon, New York.
