Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools – C-BITS

This skills-based, group intervention is held in Islip High School.

It works to relieve the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and general anxiety among children ages 10–15.

While processing and dealing with grief and traumatic memories, children learn techniques to help them relax, cope with unsettling thoughts and solve problems through conversation and drawing in both individual and group settings.
